FracHunt Introduction

Some of you might like to start fast. However I really recommend reading these help pages to get the most out of the program.

About FracHunt

FracHunt is a program to create true color images of fractals ( tough luck for old 256 palette video card users). The program aims at the beginning Fractal renderer or people who just like to get nice pictures without to much of a hassle.

The help pages are divided in the following parts

a description of the main window reffered to as the Control Window
an explanation of the render window
a tutorial on how to use the program
the formulas used to create fractals
an explanation of the color algorithms
a very, very basic introduction into complex numbers

For more serious Fractal rendering I recommend the famous Fractint program.

For those interested; The program was created in Microsoft Visual C++ 7.1 and is build on MFC. The help system was created with HTMLHelp.

The setup program is a plain windows program. During the installation it uses the setup API available in newer win32 OS'es.

I hope you enjoy the FracHunt program as much as I did, creating it.

FracHunt is careware. Careware is an idea I stole from http://www.arachnoid.com which is, by the way, a site worth visiting.

Basically you can't pay for the program with money but you have to do either one of the following things:

When I read about Jesus or the bible I often read about all kind of things you aren't allowed to do.

Actually what Jesus said is that there is but one law:

Mathew 22:37
37 And he said to him,
"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart,
and with all your soul, and with all your mind."
38 This is the great and first commandment.
39 And a second is like it,
"You shall love your neighbour as yourself"

And actually that's just common sense. Simply said, don't do anything bad and help eachother. Although this sounds simple it is not that easy. If you really think about this with everything you do, you will realize that doing the right thing is very difficult the moment it is not directly profitable to you.

Therefore you better spend time on this instead of rules and procedures invented by man.

Also God wants us to take responsibility ourselfs. In Luke, jesus didn;t say I will judge you, although he is god and could, but instead;

Luke 12:14 "Man, who made me a judge or divider over you?"

We should decide by ourselfs what is right or wrong. Because we know very well what is right or wrong but usually try to 'bend' it to our likings.

Although everything is allowed not everything is useful.

1 Corinthians 10:23
"All things are lawful," but not all things are helpful.
"All things are lawful," but not all things build up

Like you work in this live to make a living you also might want save something for after this live. Unfortunately money won't do you any good since you cannot take it with you. You might want to try to do something usefull like helping building God's kingdom.

You could do this in lot's of ways.

Like for instance telling other people about the god of Jesus :-)
